Well-known ‘American Idol’ contestant dies unexpectedly at 31

The world of music is in mourning after the death of CJ Harris, a participant in the 2014 edition of American Idol, was confirmed after suffering a heart attack on Sunday night. The artist finally died in the hospital after not being able to recover from the heart accident.
It was a close member of the singer’s family who confirmed to TMZ that CJ Harris suffered a heart attack in Jasper, Alabama, which turned out to be fatal.
The musician rose to fame and is remembered when in 2014 he surprised the judges of American Idol, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, with his version of Soulshine, by the Allman brothers.
Keith Urban was amazed by CJ’s voice and dedicated some emotional words to her : “You sing because you have to sing, not because you want to sing. And i mean it. And that’s why it’s so believable and real.”
Too Close , American Woman and Free Fallin were some of the performances that earned him the applause of the judges and the affection of the people who made him finish in sixth place on the reality show.
After his rise to fame thanks to American Idol , CJ Harris participated with Darius Rucker, in The Gran Ole Opry, the longest-running country music radio show in the United States.
“You can live in Las Vegas or Hollywood and it can be a distraction. Being from a small town, there’s not much to do but play music ,” CJ Harris said in a 2014 interview with Nexstar’s KSWB.
